The words that are inscribed on the stones are called stone inscriptions.  Ancient writings on hard surfaces such as stone or metal are known as inscriptions. Achievements of the king, orders of the king and treaties with other states were usually inscribed on stone or metal plates. Such important texts were inscribed because inscriptions are more durable and long-lasting than manuscripts. Stone inscriptions are pieces of evidence that can tell the story of ancient history. Before being able to write literary writing for stone inscriptions, they first wrote with toys ‌and symbols. When they could write letters, they wrote using letters of the alphabet.
